About us
Investor Relations Club
IR Futures is a student organization focused on business communications. We promote and provide knowledge of Wall Street and personal finance among students at the University of Oregon. IR (also known as investor relations) is the highest paid form of public relations. Professionals help corporate management communicate with shareholders, securities analysts and other members of the financial community.
Our group investigates emerging trends in corporate public relations, crisis communication and public affairs. We sponsor workshops and volunteer our time to broaden student understanding of financial communications and personal finance issues that impact our community. We host speakers to campus and maintain a network of IR Futures alumni to foster professional development among our members. IR Futures is one of a small number of student investor relations organizations in the nation. Meetings are open to all students. We meet in Allen 140 Thursdays at 6 p.m on even weeks of each term. Members lead discussions on current events, professional networking, media and financial communications. and present relevant issues related to the financial communications community. Our rotation of leadership encourages all members to participate in the planning and execution of special events and topic meetings. We also host a blog at uoregonirfutures.weebly.com and manage an SOJC stockindex. All members participate in volunteer opportunities and actively pursue ways to better the UO student community. |
Our MissionWe make an effort to connect students and their creativity, while developing their understanding of business communication.
